Iranian president's location mystery/ Search teams face challenges

A few hours ago, the helicopter in which the Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi is thought to be traveling, made a forced and difficult landing.

Rescue teams immediately landed on the ground and began searching for Raisi's helicopter.

But Iranian state media reported that the exact location of the helicopter and the president has not yet been found.

The search is being carried out by more than 20 rescue teams, equipped with drones and search dogs.

The Iranian Armed Forces have also deployed commando units and special forces to assist in the search operation.

However, they are facing adverse weather conditions and challenging terrain to locate President Raisi's location.

The mountainous area where the plane landed is covered by fog and therefore the rescue helicopters could not land, but turned back.

The incident occurred on Sunday in the Dizmar forest between the towns of Varzaqan and Jolfa, in East Azerbaijan province, as the president was returning from inaugurating a dam with Azerbaijan's president, Ilham Aliyev.

The American media write that the helicopter has crashed, but the Iranian ones report only a forced and difficult landing./ CNA
