Medvedev threatens Zelensky: You will stay hidden for the rest of your worthless life

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev issued a veiled threat against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"He wants war. Well, now at least he will have to stay hidden for the rest of his worthless life," Medvedev said.

Medvedev, who is now a member of Russia's security council, accused the Ukrainian leader of trying to sabotage the resolution of the conflict, in a post on the social platform 'X', referring to ongoing peace talks aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Russia has continued to bomb Kiev with airstrikes, and U.S.-brokered negotiations have continued, raising questions about whether Moscow wants to derail peace talks. President Trump has said he believes Putin wants to achieve peace, despite the ongoing attacks.

Medvedev's statements come after US President Donald Trump and Zelensky met at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss the latest draft of the proposal to end the war, Putin spoke to Trump by phone. /CNA
