Final farewell to Giorgio Armani/ Hundreds of people join tributes to Italian

Hundreds of people entered the tribute room set up at the Armani Theater in Milan this Saturday for the final farewell to Italian designer Giorgio Armani, who died at the age of 91 on Thursday.

Foreign media write that messages of condolence arrived from all over the world, not only from the world of fashion, but also from politics, business and sports. Marking the extent to which Armani influenced entire generations and managed to take Italian excellence beyond national borders.

In the theater hall, where Armani's ready-to-wear collections are usually presented, rows of candles in paper bags cast a dim light and music by Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi played softly in the background to escort people to the coffin, decorated with a bouquet of long-stemmed white roses and accompanied by a Carabinieri honor guard in full uniform.
