"We will be judged at the end of four years"/ Mitsotakis: The future

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke about government policy, elections and political developments during a meeting with journalists tonight at a central hotel in Thessaloniki.

Responding to questions regarding the measures he will announce from the podium of the 89th TIF, Mr. Mitsotakis assured that everything has already been written and that the next steps have been determined, without worrying about this year's TIF.

"Don't worry, we still have next year," he emphasized, underlining the continuity of the government's work.

As for Alexis Tsipras, who spoke earlier at the Economist conference, the prime minister insisted that the TIF is not the right forum to engage in personal confrontations.

"This is not the topic of TIF. I was at an event on Artificial Intelligence (ed. with Open AI CEO Sam Altman), so you can conclude who is with the past and who is with the future," Mitsotakis said.

“In 2019 and 2023, I didn’t particularly deal with Tsipras, do you think you’re giving him too much importance,” he said. In addition, the prime minister argued that the center-right public does not seem to be particularly interested in Tsipras, adding that tomorrow’s event is just one of many that will be required to implement the government’s policy.

"I said elections at the end of the four-year term. It is not our intention to get one or two points next week, I am not worried about that, the short term does not have the same effect at the end of the four-year term. We will be judged on whether we did what we said in 2023," he said at another point.

Regarding Panos Kammenos, the Prime Minister limited himself to saying: "I heard something...", without expanding on further comments.
