The film, starring Jason Momoa, was not well received by fans and critics.

In the US, it has collected $40 million over the past four days, a drop in the ocean compared to the $205 million it cost to make.

It's a stark comparison to the first film — released in 2018 — which took in $67.8 million in the US and went on to earn almost $1.2 billion globally.

Besides him, the other three films that were not rated are: "The Suicide Squad" ($26.2 million), "Blue Beetle" ($25 million) and "Wonder Woman" 1984 ($16.4 million).

If the film flops, it will be a sad end to a tumultuous era for superhero movies. / CNA
