The economic cost of the war with Iran/Here's how many billions of dollars

The war with Iran has cost Israel about $11.5 billion in budgetary expenses, according to an initial estimate by the Israeli Finance Ministry.

The ministry specifies that the US-Israeli war with Iran caused high economic costs, including a loss of GDP and an increase in state spending, some of which will only become fully clear in the future.

The figure includes the total cost of government compensation plans for direct damage from the rockets, loss of economic output for businesses and unpaid leave for employees. It also includes civilian costs, including hospital operations, emergency response and expenses for the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The bulk of the cost includes defense and military spending for the IDF, the Defense Ministry, the Ministry of National Security, and other security organizations. This amount has already been added to the Defense Ministry's budget as part of the state budget for 2026./CNA
