In Kosovo, the opposition demands investigations into the government's

The MPs of the opposition parties in the Parliament of Kosovo called on Friday for the opening of investigations into a telephone conversation between the head of the Vetëvendosje parliamentary group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, and the former vice-president of the Serbian List, Milan Radoiçiç.

The opposition called an extraordinary session of the parliament on Friday to discuss the telephone conversation that was published by the online newspaper "Paparaci". The session was boycotted by the parliamentary majority.

The conversation, the content of which Ms. Kusari Lila has dismissed as fabricated, according to the "Paparaci" portal, took place in June 2022. In it, Ms. Kusari Lila can be heard coordinating with Milan Radoicic regarding the voting of the law on the minimum wage in Kosovo, which at that time had incited clashes between the government and the opposition that opposed the exclusion of war categories from the law.

The minimum wage law was approved by parliament in July 2023 and a few days later it was sent by the opposition to the Constitutional Court for review. In June of this year, the Constitutional Court published the decision in which it found no violation of the law. The decision states that "the connection between the amount of pensions of KLA veterans and the amount of the minimum wage in the Republic of Kosovo has not been changed through the contested law, but since 2017, through the amendment and addition of the Law on Veterans".

The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Abelard Tahiri, accused the Vetëvendosje movement of advancing Serbian interests in exchange for the support of Serbian representatives in parliament for this law.

"Milan Radoicic, together with Mimoza Kusari Lila and the Vetëvendosje movement, have excluded the most sensitive categories of our country from the minimum wage," said Mr. Tahiri, emphasizing that cooperation with representatives of the Serbian community in parliament is acceptable, but not when they are involved in criminal activity.

"I am asking the state prosecutor today to have a criminal investigation on this matter. Our national security has been compromised. The Serbian BIA (Intelligence Agency) has forced us to vote in the Kosovo parliament, it has infiltrated the Constitutional Court. This is intolerable. We have never been violated more than today", said Mr. Tahiri.

"You who knelt down to the criminals and said to them, come and save us, you have humiliated this parliament, you have destroyed the dignity of every citizen, you have shamed us. I'm addressing Mrs. Kusari Lila, believe me you feel sorry for me because the main culprit is not you but your leader, Prime Minister Albin Kurti. I don't know how he forced you to arrange an agreement with the criminal", said Anton Çuni from the ranks of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

"You see the difference, 2018 was followed by the Haradinaj government, in this case by the justice of that time, now Radoicic became a factor in the agreements with Kurti", said the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, emphasizing that the party of he "supports Ms. Kusari Lila's request for accountability, but her boss Albin Kurti must also give her accounts".

The day before during the meeting of the parliament of Kosovo, Mrs. Kusari Lila said that the conversation is fabricated and represents incitement to hatred.

"You have two big problems, the first is that in no way can you reflect the cooperation you had with the Serbian List, so you have to go with slander and forgeries. The second has to do with the fact that they are missing so much that they are not present here for 28 months now, 28 months with the Kurti government and with this position, the Serbian List is not in the Assembly. The assembly is working, while you, unable to have them to help you, have to fabricate. Your misfortune is that you are already adding credibility to the government and the possibility of the next victory. What you are doing, the lynching, the low attacks, will go with you in the February 9 elections," she said.

Milan Radoicic, a wealthy former politician and businessman with strong ties to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, took responsibility for preparing and leading the armed group that attacked Kosovo police a year ago in the northern village of Banjska, where he was killed. a police officer. He is the main accused by the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo regarding this attack.

Milan Radoicic is under the sanctions of the United States and the United Kingdom due to his criminal financial activities. European and American diplomats have asked Serbia to bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack in Banjska, which fueled high tensions and concerns about stability in the region./ Voa
