Kiev confirms: 3 killed by Russian attacks in Kherson

Three people were killed and six others wounded, including a baby, during bombings in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, local governor Oleksandr Prokudin said on Monday.

Late last year, Russian troops abandoned the city of Kherson and the west bank of the Dnieper River, but are now regularly shelling these areas from positions on the east bank.

Two people were killed and four others were wounded during shelling in the central part of the city, Prokudin said on Telegram.

In another message, the governor said that a hospital in the city was attacked by the Russians, while earlier on Monday a car was shot on the outskirts of Kherson, killing one person and injuring a two-month-old baby and her mother.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's military said late Saturday that the situation in the country's east and south "remains difficult," citing frequent Russian airstrikes and missile strikes, on the day Ukraine marked the first anniversary of the liberation of the strategic city of Kherson ./ REL
