Albin Kurti requested that more pressure be exerted on Belgrade for the signing of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. From the Economic Forum in Vienna, where he was part of the panel, Kurti said that the EU should exert more pressure on Serbia.
" We need pressure on Belgrade and we need more pressure from the EU to sign the agreement with Serbia. The signature between de facto recognition would be the most important step ever taken." - said Kurti.
He also referred to the two times when Kosovo and Serbia were on the verge of signing the agreement on the recognition of Kosovo, but it was the Serbian side that withdrew, thus DE FACTO not recognizing the agreement, which led to the attack of Banjska.
" Today we are not in that good relationship despite the fact that at the beginning of this year, on February 21, we reached an agreement to be de facto recognized, just like the German model. The same thing happened in March, but Serbia refused to sign this agreement. We have had attacks on the border forces in some of the municipalities and then came the strike in Banjska where one of our officers lost his life. This came as a result of an agreement that we reached verbally, but not legally." - said Kurti.
He did not fail to mention the need to solve the energy crisis that Kosovo is going through./ CNA
