The company Elektrosever that will supply and bill the electricity consumed in the north of Kosovo was licensed by the office of the Kosovo Energy Regulator (ERO). This was announced by ERO, after the board voted with five votes in favor and none against. Elektrosever is owned by Serbia's energy company, EPS (Elektroprivreda Srbije), but was established in Kosovo by Kosovo law. The licensing of Elektrosever in Kosovo took place only three days after reaching an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on energy, which was signed in Brussels in the framework of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue mediated by the European Union. In fact, in principle, the energy agreement was signed in 2013, but, in order to start implementing, the parties agreed on June 21 in Brussels.

More than two decades without paying for energy
