Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been threatened through a photo with a threatening message. The message was identified on Tuesday evening.
The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North Region, Veton Elshani, told Radio Free Europe that it is about an inscription written on a wall on "Vasilije Ostrovski" street, in the city inhabited by a Serb majority.
According to Elshan, after consulting with the acting prosecutor, a case for intimidation was initiated.
Elshani said that, so far, there are no suspects or arrests in connection with this incident.
He added that the same caption, accompanied by graphic images, had been published earlier on the Telegram chat platform.
In the "Corridor" group, in this application, photos were shared with the caption:
"Sa Kosova zora svice, Albin Kurti mrtav bitë" (Albanian: "In Kosovo, morning will dawn and Albin Kurti will be dead").
Another photograph shows the same inscription, but also an image, where a masked person holds Kurti's head in one hand and an axe in the other.
Kosovo Police have announced that they are continuing investigations into the case./ REL
