The US Treasury Department announced that nearly 70 professions in eight sectors could benefit from President Donald Trump's tax cut on tipped wages, a campaign promise that he signed into law this summer.
Employees who can expect to stop paying taxes on tipped wages as part of the One Bill include those in the food and beverage industry, events and entertainment sector, hospitality and guest services, personal services, personal appearance and welfare jobs, home services, recreation and teaching professions, and distribution and transportation jobs.
A preliminary list describes workers who habitually and regularly receive tips and are likely to qualify for the "No Tip Tax" included in Trump's mega-bill, which narrowly passed Congress this summer.
