The trial against former KLA leaders is expected to conclude in December.

The Special Court is expected to conclude the trial of former KLA leaders in The Hague by the end of the year.

The trial panel has set November 14 as the final date for the defense to complete the presentation of evidence.

In an announcement published today, it is stated that the parties have been informed to prepare to submit their final files by December 2, 2025.

“ Informs the parties and participants that they should be prepared to submit the final trial files and the statement on the impact of the alleged crimes on the victims participating in the proceedings, before the start of the judicial recess on Monday, December 22, 2025 ,” the announcement said.

The former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the former Speakers of Parliament, Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veseli, and former MP Rexhep Selimi are currently undergoing a protracted trial at the Special Chambers of the Hague.

Their trial began in April 2020, and they have been in detention cells since November 2020.
