7.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Japan/ Authorities, tsunami alert

A powerful earthquake hit Japan this Monday.

The earthquake was epicentered near the west coast of Honshu, 45 kilometers from Anamizu and 90 kilometers from Takaoka.

The tremors had a magnitude of 7.5 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 9 kilometers.

The earthquake has caused panic among residents, while local media reports that the authorities have issued a tsunami warning.

Residents in the coastal area of ??Noto, in Ishikaea Prefecture, were asked to evacuate immediately to mountainous areas.
