Texas governor vows 'relentless' search for people missing in floods

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the search for people missing due to flooding in some parts of the state will be ongoing.

"We will be relentless. We will not stop today, we will not stop tomorrow. We will stop when the job is done," Abbott said at a press conference on Saturday.

He noted the "tremendous devastation" across the state and said Texans are rallying behind him. The governor also stressed that recovery efforts are a 24-hour operation.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed an expanded disaster declaration on Saturday, adding six new counties and vowing to continue adding more as needed.

The new declaration includes the Texas counties of Bexar, Burnet, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Travis and Williamson.

On Friday, the governor issued a disaster declaration for Bandera, Comal, Concho, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimball, Llano, Mason, McCullough, Menard, Reeves, San Saba and Tom Green counties.
