Strike at Frankfurt airport/ Flight attendants suspend work, 70,000 passengers affected

The Lufthansa company is postponing flights due to the flight attendants' strike which started in the early hours of this morning, around 04:00.

The cabin crew at Frankfurt Airport, organized by the UFO union, have gone on strike.

The strike will last until 11:00 p.m., as confirmed by the union's spokeswoman.

According to the airline, Lufthansa 600 flights to Frankfurt will be canceled due to the strike, affecting 70,000 passengers. "UFO" then called on Lufthansa cabin crew to go on strike at Munich airport on Wednesday.

 Flight attendants at parent company Ufo and Lufthansa Cityline independently voted almost unanimously for the strike, with more than 96 percent each supporting the demands. They demand a 15 percent salary increase and an 18-month contract extension. The company is also asking for an inflation compensation bonus of 3,000 euros./ CNA
