Germany again aid to Ukraine

Germany's government will supply Ukraine with another air defense system, the Patriot, as it faces Russia's war, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on Saturday.

According to a statement released to the media, the system will be shipped to Ukraine immediately.

So far, Germany has sent two Patriot systems to Ukraine.

According to the German Ministry, the systems have proven themselves in the fight against Russian aggression.

This delivery is taking place as Minister Pistorius and German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock are intensively lobbying partners to send defense systems to Ukraine.

"Russian terror against Ukrainian cities and city infrastructure is causing immeasurable suffering," Pistorius said, according to the statement.

Earlier in the day, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Syrsky, said that "the situation on the eastern front has deteriorated significantly in recent days."

The senior American general, Christopher Cavoli, has warned days ago that Ukraine will not be able to cope with the war against Russia alone, as a massive package of American aid continues to be blocked in the House of Representatives in the United States.

The aid has been blocked by some conservative Republicans, who believe that domestic issues in the US should take priority.

The war in Ukraine started on February 24, 2022.

Russian President Vladimir Putin calls the war a "special military operation" to demilitarize Ukraine.

The West has responded to Russia, hitting the economy of this country with harsh sanctions.

As a result of the war, thousands of people have died and millions more have been displaced from their homes./ REL
