Elon Musk becomes world's first trillionaire after SpaceX's historic

American entrepreneur Elon Musk has become the first person in the world to reach a net worth of over $1 trillion, following the strong increase in the value of shares of space company SpaceX during its debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

Musk's net worth is reportedly around $1.11 trillion, significantly strengthening his position as the richest man on the planet. This was boosted by the public listing of SpaceX, which was valued at around $2.2 trillion.

The company's shares were initially offered at $135 per share, but trading opened at $150 and reached as high as $176.50 during the day, before closing near $161. The initial public offering (IPO) raised about $75 billion in new capital for the company.

Musk owns about 42 percent of SpaceX, giving him significant control over the company's strategic direction. His stake in SpaceX is estimated to be worth over $767 billion, while he also owns hundreds of billions of dollars worth of shares and options in Tesla.

However, Musk's rise to trillionaire status has sparked heated debates about economic inequality and the concentration of global wealth. Critics argue that his wealth is now comparable to the annual economic output of some developed countries.

On the other hand, Musk's supporters consider his success to be the result of innovation in technology, space exploration and artificial intelligence.

Despite its high market valuation, SpaceX continues to face financial challenges and is not yet considered a profitable company. Investors remain optimistic about the long-term potential of the business, especially in the sectors of reusable rockets, the Starlink satellite network and artificial intelligence projects.
