Authorities in Poland announced that around 30,000 people were left without electricity since Friday after strong winds broke trees and uprooted power lines.
This comes after extreme weather events across the country, particularly in the southern region, where torrential rains, strong winds and hail caused damage to the facades of residential buildings and farms.
The fire service said employees have been working to deal with these consequences since Thursday evening.
The spokesperson for the State Fire Service in Kielce said that firefighters had more interventions than usual.
Most of the reported incidents occurred in the Lesser, Silesian and Lublin Voivodeships in the southern region of Poland.
Local officials in all cities said the storm flooded properties, basements and dugouts, causing fallen trees to block roads and damage infrastructure./CNA
