Attacks between Israel and Hezbollah/ More than 320 rockets are fired, 1 victim

Hezbollah says it has fired more than 320 rockets at Israel targeting 11 military facilities in the northern part of the country, the BBC reports. 

The group announced that it is launching a "large-scale" operation and has sent drones as well as Katyusha rockets towards Israel.

On the other hand, the Israeli military says it has carried out pre-emptive strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after discovering plans to launch a large-scale attack.

According to the Israeli military, about 100 warplanes struck and destroyed thousands of Hezbollah rocket launchers aimed at northern Israel.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has declared a 48-hour state of emergency throughout Israel.

The US has redoubled its support for Israel, with the Pentagon and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reaffirming Washington's commitment to Israel's defense.

Meanwhile, one person was killed after an Israeli strike hit a car in the southern Lebanese city of Khiam, according to Lebanon's Ministry of Health./ CNA
