The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, spoke on April 23 at the event to mark the Day of Remembrance of the 700,000 victims of the crimes of soldiers in the Jasenovac concentration camp, which was held in Donja Gradina.
He spoke about these crimes, compared them to the crimes of the last war in the territory of the former Yugoslavia and spoke about the secession of Republika Srpska and the union with Serbia.
"We are here from Republika Srpska because we belong to a nation and one day we will be a state. No one will stop us from doing this because it is our right and our history. The last century was the century of Serbian suffering and this century will be the century of Serbian unity" , said Dodik, Beta reports.
"The state is a key word in our freedom and therefore we want to clearly say that there are no illusions or threats to anyone when the Republika Srpska expresses its popular will to form its own state, because we cannot live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state that oppresses us and threatens our freedoms", said Dodik in front of the audience.
He estimated that the Serbs "cannot survive in these areas, if the Republika Srpska does not become independent in the following years".
"We will make Republika Srpska a country in peace, without conflicts and wars. We cannot live in Bosnia and Herzegovina", said Dodik, adding that he has nothing against Bosniaks and Croats.
Dodik also said that the Serbs were the biggest victims of the last century, first of the First World War, but also of the wars that broke out during the breakup of Yugoslavia.
He made a series of accusations against the international representatives in Bosnia, whom he called "scumbags", pointing out that they want to take property from the Serbs in the Republika Srpska.
Dodik said that international representatives and diplomats from Western countries "equate the crime in Srebrenica with the suffering in Jasenovac, because they are not the same".
"You who are from America and Europe have never said that genocide was committed here against the Serbs, but you are ready to use everything you have, from NATO bombs, to justify the actions you carried out in the 90s, worked on the dissolution of Yugoslavia", said Dodik.
The leader of the Bosnian Serbs reiterated that no genocide was committed in Srebrenica, but said that a crime occurred there for which individuals are responsible.
Dodik called on the representatives of Western countries to accept the position that Serbs from Republika Srpska "cannot live in Bosnia and Herzegovina", because, as he said, "the concept of citizenship in Bosnia is an anti-Serb project, which aims to eliminate the Serbian population from these areas".
He added that the international community can send as many military units as it wants to Bosnia, but this, according to him, will not stop the Serbs from fighting for the state of the so-called Republika Srpska./REL
