Day 4 of the trial in The Hague/ Veseli's defense: Justice must be based on

Kadri Veseli's lawyer, Rodney Dixon, continued his closing arguments at the trial in The Hague today.

Dixon said that victims need justice, which must be based on truth and reality. Veseli's defense stated that [to end impunity it is necessary not to sacrifice the truth.

Attorney Dixon stated that the courts must have integrity, despite the years it takes them to reach the truth.

 

" Victims need justice, which must be based on truth and reality. Victims know that the worst injustice is false, pretended justice. In order to end impunity, it is necessary not to sacrifice the truth, the innocent must be protected, and our courts must be courts of integrity, regardless of whether it takes five years or longer to reach the determination of the truth, as is the case here. We must move in its direction to reach the end of this trial, now that we know what the arguments used by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office are ," said Veseli's lawyer./CNA
