The conflicting testimony of the manager of the railway station in Tempi / How

The tragedy caused by the collision of two trains in Tempi takes a different direction, since according to the latest information, the manager of the Larisa station was informed 17 minutes before the tragedy that the trains were on the same line, but without any reaction.

In particular, the director of the New Sources station, who had noticed the two trains in Tempi, had alerted his colleague in Larisa. This fact is found in the file provided by the Greek media.

Typically, on Tuesday evening at 23:04, the station master of Nei Poros informs his counterpart in Larissa by radio about the two trains on the same line and he has replied that the message was received.

This dialogue shows that the Larisa station master had 17 minutes to prevent the accident, since the collision happened at 23:21. However, he thought he had turned the key.

In the preliminary investigation, he said that "yes, I realized that something was wrong, but I didn't have time to stop it." 

However, new evidence shows that he had sufficient time available to prevent the fatal accident. 

It is worth noting that the head of the Larisa station was also subjected to an alcohol test, while a team of policemen "swept" the station building collecting evidence./ Adapted from CNA.al
