Denmark has set a new salary level for foreign shepherds and farm managers who want to enter the country for work in the agricultural sector.

Announcing the news, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) said that the new salary level for shepherds and farm managers follows the Agricultural Agreement reached between 3F and GLS-A, SchengenVisaInfo reports .

The new collective agreement comes into force from 1 March 2024 and all applications for shepherds and farm managers submitted on or after 12 April 2024 will be assessed against the new wage level.

According to the newly reached agreement, the salary offered to shepherds must meet the following standards in order to be issued residence and work permits:

- From March 1, 2024: a minimum of 4,236.82 euros per month.

-From June 1, 2024: a minimum of 4,314.80 euros per month.

If the monthly salary for shepherds is as above, including or excluding pension contributions, it will be considered to correspond to Danish standards./ CNA
