This weekend in Pristina carries a special significance, as the Kosovo Police marked the 26th anniversary of its establishment.

Through a solemn ceremony, the country's highest institutional leaders participated.

Present were President Vjosa Osmani, Speaker of Parliament Dimal Basha, Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, representatives of the diplomatic corps, heads of local and international security institutions, as well as family members of police officers and fallen heroes.

In these 26 years, the Kosovo Police emphasizes that it has consolidated itself as one of the main pillars of state security, facing numerous challenges, from criminal and terrorist phenomena to violations of constitutional order in the north of the country, which it has managed with professionalism and successfully overcome.

Through a special announcement, the Kosovo Police expresses and remains committed to guaranteeing security for all citizens without distinction, to strengthening institutional transparency and integrity, and to strictly respecting the law and fundamental human rights, while maintaining its position as one of the most trusted and transparent institutions in the country.

On this day, the police officers who fell in the line of duty were remembered with eternal respect and gratitude, and the commitment to always be at the service of the citizens and the Republic of Kosovo was reaffirmed./ CNA
