Iran has declared three days of official holidays in the capital Tehran for the funeral ceremonies of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
The announcement was confirmed through a report on Iranian state television.
IRGC commander Hassan Hassanzadeh, in charge of the funeral ceremonies, stated that
"The farewell ceremony and prayers for the martyred leader's body will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 4 and 5, in Tehran's Grand Mosque, and the funeral will be held on Monday, July 6, and Tehran province will be closed for these three days," Hassanzadeh was quoted as saying.
Earlier, state media said Tehran would be on holiday on July 4 and 5, while the entire country would follow suit on July 6. /CNA
