The process of analytical review of North Macedonia's legislation, known as "screening", is about meeting the standards and requirements that North Macedonia must fulfill in order to become a member of the EU. The process of analytical review of legislation has starting with the so-called "fundamental values" of the EU, related to the rule of law, good governance, reforms in public administration and the management of public finances.

Kurse në të dytën, e cila është procesi dypalësh, shqyrtohet nëse legjislacioni i Maqedonisë Veriut përputhet me ligjet e BE-së dhe vendosen planet për përputhshmëri të mëtejshme duke ndërtuar kapacitete institucionale dhe administrative, si dhe burimet e nevojshme njerëzore, financiare dhe IT për zbatimin e standardeve evropiane. Proceset do të zbatohen sipas metodologjisë së re në nivel grupesh, në një periudhë që do të zgjasë të paktën një vit.
