Belarus' Foreign Minister summoned Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires on Saturday and asked Kiev to take measures not to violate airspace, after Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said dozens of Ukrainian drones had been destroyed in Belarusian airspace, Russia's state-run news agency reported. Tass news.

The statement, according to the Tass agency, said that if Ukraine failed to prevent the recurrence of such a situation, Belarus would question "whether it would be appropriate" to continue Ukraine's diplomatic representation in Minsk.

"The Belarusian side has asked for comprehensive measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future, which could lead to an escalation of the situation in the region," said the statement quoted by the Tass agency.

Earlier, President Lukashenko said air defense forces destroyed "about 12" Ukrainian drones on Friday after they violated Belarusian airspace in the Mogilev region on the border with Russia.

He said other drones were destroyed near the Russian city of Yaroslavl. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that its forces had intercepted 6 drones in the Yaroslavl region./ Voa
