Organizers: France, happy and united throughout the Olympics

Organizers of the Paris Olympics have said that France has been "united" and "happy" throughout the two weeks of the Summer Olympics, although they are unsure how long the joy will last.

"France has presented itself to the world with a very, very good mindset: united, warm, welcoming," said the head of the Olympic organizing committee, Tony Estanguet.

Estanguet has said that he is proud of the organization.

In this year's Olympics, it is said that there were record sales of tickets.

"It is an extraordinary collective success. France has made these Games successful and I am very proud", he said.

"We see France happy, we see the French happy, and that should not be underestimated when it comes to the legacy of these Games."

The Paralympic Games will start on August 28, however Estanguet has said that he is aware that at the end of the Olympics and the summer holidays, there will be a change in atmosphere.

"We will be in another period, we return to work, political life returns. We have to adapt to it."

The French President, Emmanuel Macron, has called for a "political truce" during the Olympics, following the parliamentary elections that were held before the start of the Games.
