The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora announced that the dead body of the citizen of Kosovo, Faton Hajrizi, who was killed in Lloznica, Serbia, has arrived in Kosovo.

"After the arrival of the dead body of the citizen of Kosovo, the relevant institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are carrying out further forensic procedures for his identification and verification", said the Ministry of Justice in the announcement.

A day earlier, the MPJD announced that the Belgrade District Prosecutor's Office had given permission for the removal of Hajrizi's lifeless body. This institution said that the lawyer of the Hajrizi family, Arianit Koci, supported by the Liaison Office of Kosovo in Serbia, and the ambassador Jetish Jashari, were carrying out the procedures of withdrawing the body of the citizen of Kosovo from the morgue of Lloznica to be brought to Kosovo .

Hajrizi was killed by Serbian authorities on July 19.

He had escaped from a prison in Kosovo on July 6 and became a suspect in the murder of a Serbian policeman and the wounding of another in the early hours of July 18 in Lloznica, a city in the western part of Serbia.

On July 23, Arianit Koci, a lawyer from Kosovo, confirmed to Radio Evropa e Lire that he was authorized by the Hajrizi family to engage in the procedures to retrieve the body from Serbia.

Serbia's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dacic, stated in July that the suspected police officer was killed in a place called Banja Kovilaca, as Serbian authorities had been looking for him since the policeman's murder.

According to him, he was hiding by the river Drina, looking for a way to cross it.

Serbia has requested that Germany extradite Faton's brother, Artan, after documents in his name were found at the scene.

Hajrizi allegedly traveled around Serbia with his brother's documents. Artan Hajrizi appeared before the authorities in Germany - where he lives - and said that his brother Fatoni had stolen his passport in Germany. However, it has not been confirmed whether Fatoni was in Germany./ REL
