The plane is hit by turbulence/ One person dies, 71 others are injured

One passenger has died and 71 others have been injured on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore after being hit by severe turbulence.

The Singapore-bound plane landed at 15:45 local time in Bangkok.

It is still unclear what exactly happened on board the flight, but a passenger asked by "Reuters" said that the plane suddenly "tilted and shook".

"I started to prepare myself for what was happening, all of a sudden there was a very dramatic drop, so all of us who were sitting and had taken off our seat belts ended up on the ceiling immediately. "Some people hit their heads on the luggage cabins above and were injured as they crashed into the places where the lights and masks are and penetrated straight into it," said the 28-year-old.
