The good progress of the tourism sector has continued in October, and besides the movement of citizens, this has recently been confirmed by the reported stays in hotels.

The Institute of Statistics recently published the progress of accommodation structures, where for October 2023 a double-digit increase can be observed both for the stays of residents and non-residents.

"The number of total visitors has increased by 41.4%, compared to October 2022. The following two indicators follow the same trend: the number of resident visitors has increased by 44.0%; the number of non-resident visitors has increased by 39.3%", the publication states.

The same brings to attention that the number of nights of stays in total has increased by 68.8%, compared to October 2022, where it specifically results that the number of nights of stays by residents has increased by 78.9%, while the number of nights of stays by non-residents has increased by 62.1%.

INSTAT reported that during the month of October 2023, there was an increase in the number of visitors in total by 41.4%, compared to October 2022.

"The number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in the South Region has recorded the highest increase with 79.7%. In the Coastal Areas, this indicator has increased by 92.4%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in "Hotels and similar accommodations" has increased by 37.3%", the publication states.

The majority of visitors are located in non-coastal areas, while the preference for the preferred category is for hotels and similar accommodations.

"In the month of October 2023, the highest number of visitors results: · by region in the "South Region" (38.5%); · according to areas close to the coast in "Non-coastal areas" (52.8%); · according to the type of accommodation structures in "Hotels and similar accommodation" (95.0%).

Night stays

"During the month of October 2023, the total number of overnight stays increased by 68.8%, compared to the month of October 2022. The number of overnight stays of non-resident visitors who were accommodated in the South Region recorded the highest increase with 2.1 times. In non-coastal areas, this indicator has increased by 64.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of nights of non-resident visitors who have been accommodated in "Hotels and similar accommodations" has increased by 60.9%, reports INSTAT.

Referring to the document in October 2023, the highest number of overnight stays was realized: · by region in the "Center Region" (41.7%); · according to areas close to the coast in "Non-coastal areas" (52.3%); · according to the type of accommodation structures in "Hotels and similar accommodation" (94.8%).
