The resident who revealed the problem to the investigative show was Silva Bino, whose house has been uninhabitable for 5 months.

"Since May 5, damage and cracks in the walls have started, as soon as the foundation of the adjacent building started, where we have not knocked, but we have not found a solution," says Bino.

Silva clarified that their building was not damaged by the 2019 earthquake, but by the building being built next door. "When the engineers came and saw it, they said it was from the adjacent building, now they tell us it is from the earthquake, they are doing the same with the Dora D'Istria school, whose gym was out of order at the same time as the building and happened fixed at the time when the construction of the adjacent building started," says Bino.

But her apartment is not the only damaged apartment, as another resident, a geological engineer, says that his apartment is destroyed and this was caused by the construction of the adjacent building.

Meanwhile, the investigative show provided the report of the Dora D'Istria school gym, which states that the main cause is damage from the earthquake's tremors and its aftershocks, thus ruling out the construction of the new building.

But the Tirana Local Education Office clarified that these damages were noticed at the end of August 2023, which were reported to the Directorate of Services in the Municipality.

After this complaint, the Institute of Construction has come out with a report that shows the danger of the collapse and asks that the students not exercise activities in it.
