Day by day, facts come to light that deepen even more the affair with the 3 incinerators, that of Tirana, Elbasan and Fier.

GJKKO has so far sentenced 8 people to prison for corruption with the concession contract in Elbasan and 8 others for the one in Fier, among whom are the 3 heads of the incinerators, Mirel Mërtiri, Klodian Zoto and Stela Gugallja.

Meanwhile, the decision has not yet been made regarding the affair in Tirana, however, the landfill has been seized.

But as justice has sent a former minister and several former officials behind bars, the payments have not been stopped at any time for the waste that is not converted into energy.

This fact was mentioned this Thursday evening by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in the Parliament, where he declared that 90% of the money has disappeared.

He raised questions about the destination of the 200 million euros that were taken from Albanian taxes for the incinerators.

"What about the chilies? International institutions say that 90 percent of the money has disappeared. Where are 200 million euros of taxpayers? Where are they?" Berisha pointed out without pausing. / CNA
