Another scandal of the Veliaj-Xoxe couple has come to light that shows another link in the corrupt chain that includes the mayor of Tirana and his wife as well as other political figures.

In the "Plug" show, the threads of how Ajola Xoxa is connected with Erion Veliajt's "MJAFT" organization have been revealed.

The denunciation concerns a non-profit organization "Balkan Youth Link Albania", founded in 2002.

According to the official website, this organization with the acronym "BYL-A" operates in the form of a center with a management board consisting of 5 members. Furthermore, on the official website, "BYL-A", there are also listed the activities or projects, widely financed by George Soros, among which is that of the "MJAFT" campaign, which then turned into a movement by Erion Veliaj.

According to "Plug", the organization, which paid 22 thousand euros to Ajola Xoxa, was the founding organization of MJAFT.

What started as a campaign would soon be translated into a new NGO. MJAFT, financed by the Soros Foundation, has had on its board of directors, Erion Veliaj's closest collaborators during his public and political career.

Currently, Balkan Youth Link-Albania is registered in the name of Erald Ismail. This citizen, a lawyer by profession, in his public activity, turns out to be a common distributor of Erion Veliaj's activity on social networks.

Plug's data also shows that Erald Ismaili is an employee at Ujësjellës Kanalizimet in Tirana.

So, it remains to be clarified by SPAK, if Erald Ismaili is only a "presta nome", of the organization Balkan Youth Link Albania, which in its beginnings was directed by Erion Veliaj and may now be directed by his wife. That's Xoxa.

HOW IS AJOLA XOXA RELATED TO THE "BYLA" ORGANIZATION

Ajola Xoxa is present in many activities of the Balkan Youth Link Albania association. On December 4, 2016, Ajola Xoxa participated as a trainer in the 3-day conference of the "NATO" model, organized by Balkan Youth Albania. She appears among many young people, together with Klotilda Ferhati, who at that time offered consulting services for some SOROS NGOs, while she was a member of the Municipal Council of Tirana.

Ajola Xoxa's name is linked again to Byla in October 2023. According to the post on Erion Veliaj's official Instagram page, Harabel Competorary, D18 Paris and Byla have collaborated to bring to the stage the performance of the ballet "SONOMA" . Plow investigated further. From the treasury data, it turned out that Byla received 50,000 euros in payment for this show from the Municipality of Tirana.

And from this fund signed by Erion Veliaj, 22 thousand euros went directly into Ajola Xoxa's pocket, as is clear in her wealth declaration.  

Not only the Veliaj-Xoxe couple, but also their collaborators turn out to be family members.

AJOLA XOXA, MANAGING ROLE IN ANOTHER ORGANIZATION

Another organization where Ajola Xoxa has a leading role is the Institute for Contemporary International Studies, "Benussi". According to the data found on the Internet, Ajola Xoxa turns out to have been the executive director of the "Benussi" institute. From the verifications carried out by PLUG in the declarations of the Veliaj family's wealth, his wife Ajola Xoxa does not declare income from this association. Therefore, SPAK remains to verify whether we are dealing with concealment of income.

This is because the "Benussi" institute turns out to be one of the most active organizations in the country. And the main focus of this organization has been exactly the Reform in Justice, which produced exactly the current bodies of justice, where Erion Veliaj has spread his roots deep.

Another fact, which strengthens the conviction that after Balkan Youth Link Albania and the "Benussi" institute, the decision-making role is directly held by Ajola Xoxa, is precisely the cooperation of these two organizations between them in certain projects. One such is the project for "Increasing the capacities of the state social service", where BYL-A and "Benusi" come together to train the directors of the State Social Service.

Another flagrant case for SPAK prosecutors, where the funds given by UNICEF to Tirana Municipality, again ended up in the pockets of Ajola Xoxes, Erjon Veliaj's wife. As it appears in the media reports of the time, Erion Veliaj, as mayor, Blendi Klosi as Veliaj's deputy in the Ministry of Social Welfare and Klotilda Bushka, at the same time a member of the City Council, a board member of the Benussi Association, are part of the justifying activity for the millions of UNICEF disbursed to the Municipality of Tirana for the NGO of Ajola Xoxes.

Plug has discovered that Klotilda Bushka held the role of a Board member at the "Benussi" institute. While holding this position and appearing alongside Erion Veliaj in the activities of the associations of Ajola Xoxa, Klotilda Ferhati did not declare income from the Benussi association./ CNA
