160 World War II shells discovered near Vodice bridge in Selenica

Around 160 World War II shells were recently discovered near the Vodicë bridge, in the village of Vodicë, in the Kotë Administrative Unit of the Selenica Municipality.

The discovery occurred during the works of a private firm, which immediately notified the engineering forces of the potential danger.

Engineering experts arrived at the site and conducted a two-day operation to identify and remove the shells.

During the first day, around 140 shells were recovered, while on the second day another 20 shells were identified, bringing the total to 160. The shells have been transported to Tirana, where they will be destroyed in a controlled manner by specialists.

The rapid intervention of the engineering forces has prevented any danger to residents and workers in the area, ensuring safety and stability in the community./ CNA
