Kilometer-long queues were recorded this Monday at the Kapshtica border crossing point.
The Albanian side is working at full capacity, with 3 exit counters, but it seems that the situation has become problematic on the Greek side because the latter have an influx of incoming and outgoing passengers and have not added other counters.
Albanian immigrants have shown that this situation is not normal at all, while they have acknowledged the fact that they have been waiting for 2 hours to cross the border and will have to wait even longer until they cross the Greek side. After celebrating Easter in their homeland, Albanian immigrants say that this situation has infuriated them and is a problem that occurs every year, while they expect measures to be taken especially for families who have small children in the vehicle.

"We've been waiting for 2 hours. They haven't told us anything, we're waiting, they haven't told us any news, nothing. We celebrated Easter and are returning to Thessaloniki. This is how it always happens for holidays, no solution has been found."

"We've been waiting for about an hour and a half, two hours. They haven't told us, we haven't received any answer from anyone. We were in Albania for Easter, we stayed for 1 week. Those with small children also have a problem because of the temperatures, let's wait. This is also a problem. Those with small babies? Big problem."

"We have 2 hours, this wait is like, what can I say, a disaster. It always happens like this, it's not the first time. We were there for Easter, we stayed for 1 week, we celebrated Easter but it came out of our noses."

"We've been waiting for an hour and a half. We came from Elbasan, we were there for Easter, we celebrated it beautifully and now we're going to go about our business. It seems normal to me that we've been doing this road for 30 years and it's normal, we're used to these things. The state should do what it hasn't done so far from May 11th onwards."

"We have almost 2 hours. It's not normal, on holidays this always happens, it's not the first time. We were in Albania to celebrate Easter. We stayed for 3 days. I will appeal to the state to regulate the passport verification management system because they still continue with the keyboard, they don't have the automatic verification like they do at Greek customs."

"I've been waiting for 2 hours. We're used to it. It happens every Easter, but from what I understand, it's not the Albanian side's fault, it comes from the Greeks. They know their own faults. Nothing, whoever has power does it themselves, the state is a spectator, nothing more. We have our country here, we miss it, we have a holiday for Easter and we find the opportunity to do it. Albania is our country. We hope that Albania will become as good as possible."

"The state must act. We don't understand what's going on, we need to leave as soon as possible. We'll wait another 2-3 hours and we'll have 4-5 hours in total waiting."

Hundreds of vehicles continue to wait in line to cross the border, with the queue reaching several kilometers. The tense situation is expected to continue until 9:00 PM as the Greek side also has an increased flow of vehicles on its way out./CNA
