Accused of abuse of office/ Berat Court upholds suspension of AMP head

The Berat court upheld the suspension of the head of the AMP, Florian Sulejmani. He is accused of abuse of office.

The General Director of the Police Supervision Agency (AMP), Florian Sulejmani, appeared today at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Berat, for the verification of the personal security measure "suspension from duty".

It is learned that the Court declared territorial incompetence and transferred the case to the Tirana Court.

The Berat Court had accepted the request of the Berat Prosecution Office for the suspension from duty of the director of the Police Supervision Agency, Florian Sulejmani, as he is under investigation for abuse of office in connection with the procedure followed in the transfer of judicial police officers, which is suspected to have been carried out in violation of the relevant legislation.

The First Instance Prosecutor's Office of the General Jurisdiction of Berat announced on April 16 the imposition of the personal security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" against the General Director of AMP Florian Suljemani, within the framework of a criminal proceeding registered against him for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

According to the prosecution, the criminal case against Sulejman is related to the transfer of Sulejman's subordinates./CNA
