Former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu reacted after the publication of the decision of the Strasbourg Court.

During an interview, Mediu emphasized that the court has not determined guilt or innocence for Fatmir Mediu and that the current process is beyond any deadline.

Furthermore, the former minister adds that he does not believe that the family members will be compensated in all aspects, even less from the financial point of view.

 " Regardless of how the Strasbourg Court has decided, I think that the family members will not be able to be compensated in all aspects, not least in financial aspects. Then, my immunity is established.

After 2009, we have asked the Supreme Court in writing that we do not recognize immunity, and the Supreme Court has emphasized that this is an institutional and not an individual issue. There is no discussion, despite the fact that hints can be made, the Strasbourg Court has not determined guilt or innocence for Fatmir Mediu and finds that the trial is delayed in time. In my judgment, it is beyond all the deadlines stipulated by the law and the Criminal Code, since the case has been prescribed", said the former Mediu minister./ CNA
