Constitutional Court Decision/Meta: No surprises

The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted after the Constitutional Court rejected his request to change the security measure. In his reaction on social media, Meta says that the decision was not a surprise at all.

The leader of the PL has once again invited the media to be present at the first session of the trial on the merits and at the other sessions.

No surprises from the Lana Court!

After dragging out the case for 6 months, beyond any reasonable deadline, with the intention of delaying our path to Strasbourg, today it showed once again that this Court does not know how to disappoint.

I expressed my appreciation for her on March 2, 2020, when they were swearing in to Lana.

But at least they should have some dignity and not delay making their decision public.

Once again, I invite all media and journalists, on April 27, to the first session of the trial on the merits, and to all other sessions, where I will be face to face with the gang that kidnapped me in a bandit manner and where we will dismantle this disgusting farce of staged justice.

The leader of the PL, Ilir Meta, has been in prison since October 21, 2024, where he and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, are accused of passive corruption, money laundering, and failure to declare assets.

Pirro Xhixho is accused of passive corruption of high-ranking officials committed in collaboration. While Fatime Kryemadhi is accused of money laundering, together with Ema Çoku.  /CNA
