Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi spoke today about the national protest that will be held on December 22. Invited to Syri TV, Këlliçi said that it is time for a very strong action and protest, as the country is in a state of emergency.

The MP said that the government is to blame for this situation, whose departure, he said, will be the main demand of the opposition protest. Këlliçi also spoke about the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who he said is trying to steal from citizens even from the Durrës prison.

"A national protest will be held on Monday, the 22nd. In the situation we are in, it cannot continue as it is. There must be a very strong action and protest. There must be a much greater radicalization of the DP parliamentary group, the structures and the DP that must lead the opposition people. Despite all the dissatisfaction or remarks that the DP certainly gives reason to criticize from time to time, we must tell the truth.

But the major interest is to remove a government that steals from the citizens every day. Veliaj is demanding an account for next year's budget from prison. Everything is done to steal money from the citizens. We are in an international emergency. We either react today or we will have nothing to react to in the coming months. We are convinced that with a sustained protest in the square, the effect will be given, but this is not what will happen on Monday. A permanent protest is enough to achieve the same success as in Bulgaria, Romania or Belgrade. I am absolutely convinced that Edi Rama will have even worse luck than Veliaj himself , "said Këlliçi.  /CNA
