DP Presidency member Grigels Muçollari declared today that the opposition will cease all parliamentary communication with the majority, as according to him, the parties are not being respected.

In a connection with Syri TV, Muçollari also spoke about the national protest that the opposition has announced it will hold on December 22.

He announced that the protest will demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a temporary or technical government, which according to him will lead the country towards free and fair elections.

According to him, these were the two main decisions that were taken at the meeting of the DP Presidency.

"Exactly, after the majority's game with the issue of the ombudsman, the opposition is forced to sever any kind of relationship, as long as there is no clear will for the functioning of the parliament, which would be a mutual respect for the rights and the rights of the opposition."

There is no such will on the part of the majority, and as long as there is no such will, and best shown by the unilateral election of the ombudsman, then the opposition has no choice but to not enter into discussions, since the majority does not intend to have discussions on how a parliament will function in terms of the rights of the opposition and the right to free speech or the right to establish bipartisan committees, the right to give the opposition what has often happened, because like the issue of the ombudsman or, let's say, the leaders of the Media Council were elected and proposed by the opposition.

So I no longer have any reason why the opposition should believe in a will for the parliament to function by respecting, let's say, the parties. This is not working. The parliament has already fallen. So the opposition has taken a decision that will cut off any kind of parliamentary communication with the majority.

Beyond this, the other equally important decision was the start of the protest and the start of a national protest on December 22 with the sole purpose of the resignation of Prime Minister Rama and the creation of a government, an interim government or the creation of a technical government that will lead the country to free and fair elections.

These two were the main decisions and this was the essence and the main discussion of the political decision of the leadership. But beyond this, it is understood that, apparently, the portals and the media were more interested in the internal discussions, which have to do with the organization, but why not also with the debates within the Democratic Party, but they are not, they are not political decisions of the party, that is, they are not decisions that, I think, can directly affect society, Albanian society.

Protests, as I think and believe the majority of the local public and even the people who serve democracy, are protests that serve a society, they strengthen it. The problem is that our society has reached the point where all responsibility for the protests and all responsibility for the reaction, which would not be in this form, has been left to the opposition.

The opposition has a duty to be there, where fundamental rights are violated, where basic principles are violated and of course in this specific case it is about, about separate violations of the Prime Minister's intervention in the justice system, let's say the decline of the moral aspect of the government, beyond, beyond the legal aspect that should have fallen over time. It is about, we are dealing with a government that is already intervening, has intervened and has increasingly extended its tentacles into all the institutions of the country" , said Muçollari. /CNA
