The Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke about the 2024 budget at the extended Assembly of the Socialist Party in Pogradec.

He said that in next year's budget we have a reduction of the debt that we have never had, the debt will go to 60 percent.

Rama once mentioned the salary increase next year.

"In next year's budget, we have a debt reduction that we have never had. Go to 60 percent. But how can you drop so many percentage points in such a short time? You can only go down if the economy is resilient. In 2024, we will have 400 million euros for salary increases. Salaries for teachers will increase, but this year significantly, salaries for doctors, nurses, police officers, soldiers and definitely for all other state employees will increase 400 million. Who would take seriously a figure that in 2024 the salary in the public sector will be 900 euros," said Rama

Regarding pensions, he said that the pension increase will be slower, due to the low number of contributors.

"Due to the low number of contributors, the increase in pensions will be slower. If there is a hole that we have not closed, it is the hole from the lack of social contributions. You have to ask yourself. Since I have been employed have I paid my contributions? Unfortunately the answer is no. The salary increase next year will also be reflected in the private sector in real salaries, since a part of the salaries in the private sector is not declared, in order not to pay enough health insurance. If we don't all pay insurance how will wages increase?" , said Rama./ CNA
