Artistic Lyceum "Jordan Misja" and the Choreographic School in Tirana have received 'Special Status' from the Ministry of Education and Sports, a recognition that gives managerial and financial autonomy to these two artistically oriented schools.
The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, symbolically handed over the Special Status to the two schools in an official ceremony organized on this occasion.
"The special status that we give today to the two most famous schools, schools at the national level, which is the Artistic High School "Jordan Misja" and the Choreographic School, is a status that enables the autonomy of school management but also an increase in the level of the quality of the school through the inclusion, not only of the new roles in the school but also through the special status that is given to the schools today and that will enable a higher budget for the schools, financial autonomy, so that the schools can increase their funds also through third parties through applications for projects, various shows that can offer and can collect the income and use it for investments within the school", Manastirliu said.
The Minister of Education and Sports emphasized the modernization of the artistic curriculum, stressing the need for stronger connections between art schools and the University of Arts.
"Besides the financial autonomy of the school, another optimization of joint efforts to increase quality is the artistic curriculum, which in fact should be modernized with the pace of time, but in the meantime, it should be connected with the University of Arts. Today, more than ever, it is necessary for the University to be closer to art schools. And all the more, through this new formula for the reorganization and operation of the artistic school, you will be able to have a more integrated connection with the Opera and Ballet Theater and with other artistic theaters in all municipalities in the country, as well as with schools which have artistic classes and which support children with artistic inclinations and you can also start the process of recruiting children with special inclinations from the moment they are in primary school", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.
In conclusion, the Minister expressed the belief that this special status will represent an important step towards the success of artistic schools in Albania.
"I am convinced that this will be a success story for our artistic schools", concluded Manastirliu./ CNA
