The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Abana Koçiu, accompanied by the Mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, today visited the vocational high school "Kristo Isak" in Berat, where for this school year there are about 224 students who have chosen to follow the branches it offers.

The vocational high school "Kristo Isak" prepares young professionals also in the socio-health profile since 2017 with suitable premises and the relevant cabinet equipped with the necessary materials. While students have the opportunity to develop practices in hospitals, social centers and health centers, gaining valuable skills for the labor market.

Minister Koçiu emphasized that "an important aspect of this direction is the preparation of students to work with persons with disabilities (PWDs), offering assistance in 30 specialized centers throughout the country, equipped with qualified staff. The students' experience in these centers is key to their professional development and equipping them with the necessary knowledge to contribute to the well-being of the community."

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, underlined that "Development centers offer services for people with different diagnoses who are looking for professional figures such as physiotherapists, speech therapists or specialized educators, social workers and psychologists. "Kristo Isak" Vocational High School prepares students in hospitality-tourism with kitchen-pastry profiles, hotel and restaurant services, in social and health services, with child care services profiles as well as in economics-business. One of the main achievements of this school is that over 67% of students are employed not only after graduation, but also during their schooling years.
