The Police Supervision Agency has suspended four police officers from the Kavaja Police Station, accused of abuse of power.

The suspended officers held the positions of chief of crimes, assistant specialist or specialist.

During the exercise of their duties, the officers did not carry out checks to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants.

The Police Supervision Agency (Durres - Kavaja Region) after a several-month investigation in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durres, for the criminal offense "Abuse of office" provided for in Article 248 of the Criminal Code, has executed the personal security measures of a prohibitive nature "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" against 4 police officers.

 Commissioner AM, acting as Head of the Section for the Investigation of Major Crimes at the Kavaja Police Station at the time of the commission of the criminal offense and currently acting as Head of the Section for the Investigation of Major Crimes at the Divjaka Police Station at the Fier Police Department.

 

 Deputy Commissioner EK, with the duty of Specialist for the Investigation of Large-Scale Crimes at the Kavajë Police Station.

 

 Inspector R. Ç., with the duty of Deputy Community Policing Specialist at the Kavajë Police Station at the time of the commission of the criminal offense and currently with the duty of Urban and Interurban Traffic Service Troop at the Kavajë Traffic Section.

 

Deputy Commissioner SK, with the duty of Specialist / Coordinator for Community Policing Specialists at the Kavaja Police Station.

 

The execution of security measures became possible after these police officers, while on duty, did not conduct checks to prevent the cultivation of narcotic plants, and 550 narcotic plants were found cultivated in their coverage area.
