The Executive Director General of the Financial Supervisory Authority, Mimoza Kaçi, reported this Wednesday to the Committee on Economy, Employment and Finance on the annual activity of the institution.

In her speech, Kaçi focused on the dynamics of the AFSA's work during 2024, emphasizing that the priority has been the fulfillment of Chapter 9 on Financial Services.

Kaçi stated that during the past year, 5 thematic inspections were carried out, and new regulations were approved.

Koçi underlined that there has been an increase in the private pension market and the private bond segment.

"It has been a year of many dynamics. The European integration process and the completion of Chapter 9 have been a priority. In April 2025, negotiations were opened, of which Chapter 9 is also part. The Authority drafted amendments to the law on insurance and reinsurance activities, in accordance with the national plan for European integration. The year 2024 marked the launch of SOLUSI 2 supervision.

A series of activities were held for the staff and the insurance market. Training was also conducted on financial insurance standards. The Enterprise Security Regulation was adopted for the development of the market and the protection of investors. During 2024, the assessment of the legal and micro-legal framework for the MiCA crypto-asset markets was carried out. Currently, an inter-institutional working group has been established and work is underway on the law in line with the EU regulation.

The private pension market has continued to grow. Compared to 1 year ago, the net value of this market reached 8.1 billion lek, a 16% increase in members. AFSA approved the bylaws of the year and the implementation of the regulatory framework began. AFSA has conducted 5 thematic inspections in the country During 2024, growth is observed in the private bond segment”, said Kaçi./ CNA
