This Thursday, a protest will take place in front of the Constitutional Court.

The protest will start at 18:00 due to the tax on free professions.

The new law 'On income tax' from January 2024 foresees tax at 15% and 23% for the self-employed, natural persons and traders of services of free professions.

In total, according to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, up to 29 thousand self-employed businesses will be included in the new tax regime.

After numerous debates caused by the incorrect implementation of the law, the tax administration revised the installments of prepayment of tax for free professions with a reduction.

The tax calculations for the month of May and the months of June-December have deducted the 30% expenses provided for in the law for the self-employed with a turnover of up to 10 million ALL.

According to surveys, 23% of freelancers will close their activity or emigrate, while some of them have chosen to transfer their businesses to Kosovo and Estonia./ CNA
