Syr i Kaltër remains on Trip Advisor perhaps the most stable destination in ratings over the years where out of 1962 such registered, the ranking is at the value of four out of five which is the maximum for a destination. Even this year, most evaluations remain positive, especially regarding the uniqueness of the blue water at its source.

"The Blue Eye is very beautiful. The water is so clear and has a beautiful color. The surrounding nature is also beautiful. There are restaurants/cafes around that are also nicely decorated and have a good atmosphere.

Honestly, for me, the place is a bit overrated anyway. It's nice, but after driving to get there, everything only takes 5 minutes. There's nothing special to do there. Even though swimming is prohibited, many people go swimming" Ancer evaluates in the comments of the destination on TripAdvisor.

I visited with my family, children aged 4 and 1, last week. You pay for parking and have to walk about 30 minutes to the Blue Eye itself

There is no shade and we were there around 9.30 and it was hot! The viewing only takes about 10 minutes and I can imagine it gets packed with people as the day goes on and the car park fills up!

The Blue Eye is beautiful though – the colors are stunning. The store I would say has very nice things, and reasonable! We took the panoramic train which was adults only and our kids were free!! I say for sure it's worth it!! We enjoyed our visit, just be aware of how long it takes to get there" commented another tourist Jennifer B.

"This place is magical. Very clean and organized place. The nature is breathtaking. The water is very cold and beautiful," says another Irina S.

But just as there are no lack of positive evaluations, there are also those who criticize the destination, underlining that it is not worth the expenses.

“The place is a sight to behold, however when we arrived at the car park we were shown a place and directed to someone you had to pay for parking.

We took the 0-3 hour option which was 3 pounds or 300 lek, however, you didn't need to put the ticket in the car, you might not have paid or overpaid for parking you didn't need.

Then we saw a sign that said Blue Eye 30 minutes, and we didn't want to walk as it was about 34 degrees. At the top of the first hill we saw a car/train and paid another 1200 lek or £12 for a return journey. Glad we did as most of it was uphill and we saw people struggling on the climb.

Upon arrival, we walked over to the Blue Eye, spent 30 seconds looking and then went for an ice cream. This was £7 for two and we went for a sit down table only to be told it was for people drinking” commented garyparker231 from Britain.

"Seeing all the beautiful photos we had to go. But I think none of the reviews are honest accounts of what you get upon arrival. You arrive at the car park which is £3 to park for three hours (you don't need more),

Then you have a half hour walk. Now you might think it's not long, but it's inland and unshaded and all uphill on scorching exposed concrete.

People were really struggling. After 5 minutes of walking you will see a small visitor train, so get on it! It will save you hell. Approx £5 each return.

You see the small area of ??water that is the Blue Eye which is stunning but a two minute view. I'd say it's not worth it.

The cafe is an extortion and even if you are tired you are forced to stand unless you buy a drink. We had bought ice cream there but they forced us to leave the chairs.

Even though we had bought things and it was 36 degrees. In our opinion it's a scam to make money and it's not worth it" lisaParker19./Monitor assesses
