Petro Gjikuria, the opposition candidate for Himara, reacted to the election result, where Vangjel Tavo of the Socialist Party was declared the winner.

Through a status on social networks, Gjikuria says that the battle was big and that there were anti-democratic methods in the election.

According to him, the result is a product of the transformation of the list of voters, in order to adapt it to the interests of the SP.

"We had a great battle. A battle which was a continuation of many great battles that the Himariots have fought, especially in recent years led by Fredi Beleri. This battle was the harbinger of future battles that we will be called for our country.

In these elections, we saw anti-democratic methods in all their stages. The result was the product of the transformation of the voter list in order to adapt it to the interests of our opponents, giving the opportunity to a party army to participate in the elections and at the same time, denying this right to thousands of citizens of Himara, as well as including the state and the state. The goal was to have another weak mayor who will serve the interests of Edi Rama and his party.

I would like to thank all those who helped in this electoral campaign for the beautiful and fair race we had. The battle for Himara's tomorrow continues," Gjikuria emphasizes.

We remind you that Tavo won the elections in Himare with 5022 votes, while Gjikuria got 3545 votes./ CNA
